many of us need a certain structure, be it at home or at work - everyday there are hundred of things to accomplish, some we don't even take note of.
The same is actually true if you are looking for purpose: a structure here can help you a lot.
Without a specific purpose, there is nothing to pursue. In these instances, it is extremely difficult to see specific results. Narrowing and clearly identifying our intention directs us to attain very specific results because a purpose-driven mentality can do wonders.
It forces us to break down our bigger ambition and bigger targets into smaller pieces, easier to track and easier to accomplish.
This is also encouraging us to make a plan and to pursue it. Planning does mean evaluating what we have and what we know, to determine how to use them and identify what or who we need to take so our journey can be successful. Planning does mean being detailed and direct about our long and short-term goals, as well as the exact end results we seek.
This also gives us a clear vision of what we are attempting to achieve so we are better equipped to make decisions and revisions along the way.
Provides focus and a certain sense of control instead of too many unclear goals and confusion.
With the recurring progress we are able to get the feeling that we are moving forward, accomplishing things as per our plan and can set us into a mission that is purpose driven after all. It gives us a cause to champion; putting us on the offensive, helping us to recognize our potential, see possibilities, and believe that we can achieve our heart’s desire. This positive outlook helps us to justify why we do what we do and encourages us to keep reaching for our goals.
.... and finally purpose is specific, something we can relate to. Purpose is NOT generic. It is a specific intention, cause, desire, or reason that drives us.
Having a specific navigating force will ultimately lead us on a course to a specific destination
